Apple Crumble Pie
A traditional apple crumble recipe made easy with the use of the EOI Unbaked 4” or 7” pastry shells.
Ingredients:
APPLE FILLING
GROUP 1
1400g pie apple
500ml water
GROUP 2
250 caster sugar
60 M.A.P.S Instant starch
TOTAL WEIGHT 2210g
CRUMBLE TOPPING
330g plain flour
330g caster sugar
280g EOI Monarch
8g cinnamon
TOTAL WEIGHT 1278g
Method
1) Place GROUP 1 in a suitable dish
2) Blend GROUP 2 together, then add to GROUP 1 and mix well.
3) Par-bake the Unbaked EOI 4'' or 7'' pastry shells until lightly baked.
With the apple filling above fill the par-baked shells.
4) To prepare the crumble topping, blend or process GROUP 1 until combined (fine crumb look).
MAKE UP PROCEDURE
Par-bake the unbaked EOI 4” or 7” shells on 190c until lightly baked. With the apple filling above, fill the shells then top with the crumble topping mixture.
FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS
Sprinkle cinnamon on top of apples.
BAKING
In a moderate oven 180°c approximately 25 minutes until golden brown.
